As firefighters from the B.C. Wildfire Service continues to combat over 100 active flames to battle over 100 active wildfires throughout the province, the federal government has pledged military MILITARY assistance required to put out the fires.
Canadaโs public safety minister stated Friday evening that Ottawa is now coordinating with the British Columbia government to organize military forces to assist where it is required.
Defence Minister Harjit Sajjan said that a base will be established in Edmonton to supply aircraft resources as well as up to 350 military soldiers to assist in the fight against the flames.
โIt may be utilized to help evacuations, firemen, and community people if needed,โ Sajjan added.

Meanwhile, as hundreds of homeowners in B.C. braced themselves to flee their homes at any moment, the BC Wildfire Service warned that more flames may erupt over the weekend.
