NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Mayor Bill de Blasio says he’s troubled by video of an incident involving two unmasked NYPD officers at an East Village subway station.
The video exhibits the officers pushing a masked commuter out of the Eighth Avenue station Tuesday morning.

The commuter, Andy Gilbert, says issues escalated after he requested the officers to placed on masks, as per the MTA‘s mandate.
The mayor says it’s being investigated.

“The commissioner stated many instances publicly, given the directions, it’s as much as supervisors to step up now. Simply inform individuals, for those who’re within the subway, we’re telling everybody within the subway, you bought to put on masks, that features law enforcement officials, interval,” de Blasio stated.
“I feel we’re higher than that, I feel the general public deserves higher than that, and albeit, I do know the women and men daily are higher than that, however that’s inexcusable,” Police Commissioner Dermot Shea stated.
Shea added the officers is not going to be fired, however they are going to be disciplined.
