KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) — An off-duty KCPD officer has acquired an award for capturing the girl who went on against the law spree, primarily in KCK, final week.
Based on the KCPD, Sgt. Bobbie King has been with the Kansas Metropolis Police Division for 11 years. Now, she has acquired a Chief’s Coin for capturing Alyssa Leanne Arreola.
Sgt. King was working off-duty at Alta Vista Excessive College on Oct. 17 when there was a report of a suspicious individual within the parking zone.
Sgt. King investigated and located Arreola sitting within the passenger seat of a Honda CR-V.
“I knew the individual that owned that automobile and it wasn’t her,” King stated. “So, I knew one thing was about to occur, however I didn’t know what.”
Once they made contact with one another, Arreola ran to the BP gasoline station at 1500 Paseo Boulevard.
Sgt. King chased after her and located her within the gasoline station’s again workplace. She then tried to take her into custody, however a battle ensued.
Throughout that battle, Arreola bit Sgt. King’s proper index finger. That prompted nerve harm and a number of punctures.
Finally, with the assistance of a bystander, King was in a position to get her into handcuffs.
“She bit my wrist first, then my finger,” King said. “She tried to take off operating once more whereas nonetheless biting my finger, and he (the Good Samaritan) blocked the best way so she couldn’t get out.”
When Sgt. King was chasing and capturing Arreola, she did not know she was suspected of dedicated violent crimes earlier within the day — together with homicide.
“I’m grateful nobody else was injured,” King stated. “I’m glad I encountered her, and nobody else did.”
“We commend Sgt. King for her courageous service to Kansas Citym,” the KCPD stated in an announcement to the media. “The Chief’s Coin acknowledges exemplary efforts and is a convention continued by Chief Rick Smith when he turned Chief in 2017.”
