Man arrested after 70-block joyride in stolen FedEx truck in Manhattan

EAST HARLEM, Manhattan (WABC) — A person was arrested Tuesday morning after police say he stole an idle Fed Ex truck and took it on a 70-block joyride by means of Manhattan.

It occurred simply after 10 a.m., when officers responded to a 911 name of a Fed Ex truck stolen from the intersection of East twenty eighth Road and First Avenue in Kips Bay.

The keys had been within the ignition and the automobile was unoccupied on the time of the larceny.

The alleged perpetrator, 60-year-old Daryl Williams, drove the truck up First Avenue to East 103rd Road in East Harlem, the place he crashed right into a parked automobile, in response to authorities.

Police say Williams tried to flee the scene with packages from contained in the truck, however he was positioned underneath arrest by two NYPD officers who noticed him making an attempt to run away with the containers.
