CMU scholar sentenced in nightclub stabbing close to campus | Information

A person accused of stabbing three folks at a nightclub close to the campus of Central Michigan College has been sentenced.

On Feb. 22, 2020 at Wayside Central Bar in Mt. Nice, police responded to the scene for reviews of a combat involving a knife.

Three folks had been injured within the incident and had been all taken to native hospitals based on police.

Octayvious Sanchez-Lewis was sentenced Monday to 29 months to 5 years in jail for assault with intent to commit nice bodily hurt lower than homicide based on Isabella County prosecutor David Barberi.

Barberi mentioned whereas the sentence may appear mild, there have been points with witnesses and proof the prosecutor’s workplace needed to overcome.

“The plea brings closure to the victims and ensures an final result that leads to a jail sentence,” Barberi mentioned.
