FREEPORT, Texas (KTRK) — The Coast Guard rescued 5 folks from their sinking boat a mile off the coast of Freeport Sunday afternoon.

Officers say the decision for assist got here in round midday from the 20-foot-long boat, which was sinking close to the mouth of the Brazos River.

When crews arrived on scene, they discovered all 5 folks standing aboard the sinking boat sporting their life jackets.
