Women’s sense of self-worth meaning
Women empowerment can be defined as promoting women’s sense of self-worth, their ability to determine their own choices and their right to influence social change for themselves and others.
Being a girl in today’s society can be really hard. You are constantly being criticised for everything you do.
If you don’t wear makeup you are told to wear it, but if you wear too much you are fake.
If you are too tall (self-worth): you will never find a boyfriend but if you are below a certain height you are too short.
If you show too much skin you are a whore but if you don’t you are boring.
If you are fat you are called names, if you are too thin you are told to get fatter, if you are sexy you are called fake.
What exactly does this society want from you. There are much more criticisms but know this never changes who you are for anyone or anything.
It is said that this is a man’s world and sometimes it is but women [Women’s sense of self-worth] are more resilient than given credit for.
You guys are stronger than you think and you girls have to stick together.
Why talk shit:
about each other, why fight or keep malice with each other, it breaks my heart when I see a fellow girl fighting or bullying another girl.
I believe that you guys are to work together to fight for your rightful position in this world and the respect you deserve together.
Woman’s place:
In Nigeria it’s said that a woman’s place is in the house in the kitchen but this is a wrong belief, a woman’s place [Women’s sense of self-worth meaning] is out there in the world being a lawyer, doctor, engineer, etc.
Whatever she decides to be.
When a woman (Women’s sense of self-worth) is successful in her place of work other men tend to get jealous and start to plan for her downfall.
They forget the fact that while they were busy wasting away their time doing irrelevant things you were struggling and sweating to get to that position you are.
You are stronger:
Some go as far as to spread rumours about you or call you names just to bring you down but never ever let that bring you down, show them you are stronger than them, show them that what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.
Nowadays the society makes us believe that a woman always needs a man in her life to support her in everything but you don’t need a man to support yourself for no damn reason.

Take care of yourself:
Learn to take care of yourself, to spoil yourself, make your own money, buy yourself clothes or anything that makes you happy.
Look at Alice Walton the owner of Walmart or the Kardashians. They didn’t get to where they are today by waiting for a man to come and help them.
A dependent woman:
Let me tell you something: a woman who is independent and has her own money, who is hard to get, has more respect than a dependent woman.
Never feel the need to sell your body for money and never let anyone ever mistreat you in this life you are bigger than that.
Toxic relationship:
Don’t stay in a toxic relationship where you are constantly being mistreated and claiming it’s love.
A man who claims to love you will never mistreat you, he will always want to protect you no matter the cost, always I repeat always know your self worth.
If you are a girl you are allowed to be pretty and cute and sexy. You are allowed to wear whatever you want.
You don’t need permission to be fat or thin, you don’t need permission to work or look beautiful.
Because this is your body not mine not anyone’s, it’s YOURS and you are free to do whatever you want with it.
Oppressed:
Women have been oppressed for so long and some believe they have to back up a man to get the job done.
As women ‘women’s sense’, you all have to start appreciating your own worth and each other’s worth, Learn from each other, be inspired by each other and work together to make this world a better place.
Happy International Women’s Day
And always remember you are beautiful and amazing just the the way you are.
